After further review, House Bill 608 known as Weston's Law has been revised to accommodate issues that Property Managers were encountering when trying to comply with the Bill that was effective on October 1, 2022. In addition to removing certain requirements, and adding further clarification, the effective date to make these safety changes is June 30, 2024. Governor Roy Cooper signed the bill into law last Friday, June 30, 2023.
