The Association has been notified of a scam involving a potential buyer and fraudulent loan documents. When qualifying the buyer, a bank statement that may have looked legitimate at first glance, showed an inaccurate bank address. Phone numbers given were checked through FOREWARN and under each number there was “NO RECORD FOUND”. While some buyers may use a “burner phone” number to make contact so not to be solicited, this is a likely indicator that the person in question is not who they say they are.
Please be aware and use FOREWARN, check addresses, phone numbers, and when in doubt – trust your gut!
