Jimmy Anderson was awarded the REALTOR® of the Year at OBAR’s annual REALTOR® Ball on Friday, December 2nd at Captain George’s Restaurant in Kill Devil Hills.
The REALTOR® of the Year is awarded to a (REALTOR® that embodies professionalism through their faithfulness to the Code of Ethics, Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Association - a REALTOR® that works for the advancement of the principles of good real estate practice among other Brokers.
In 2022 Jimmy actively served on several OBAR committees. Jimmy was appointed by OBAR President Doug Brindley to Chair OBAR’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Taskforce. He worked diligently on creating a mission statement and initiatives. As Chair he attended every town and county council meeting, and encouraged each town to bring attention to Fair Housing and the impacts of implicit bias, while promoting DEI educational opportunities. The towns were asked to proclaim April as Fair Housing Month. Jimmy also was recognized as a Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Good Neighbor in August. Whenever there was an activity or event, Jimmy was there to lend a hand.
