OBAR has received multiple complaints that yard signs are not being removed from sold properties in a timely manner. According to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission, “A licensee shall not advertise or display a “for sale” or “for rent” sign on any real estate without the consent of the owner or his or her authorized agent.”
Effective immediately, OBAR will be issuing citations in accordance with OBAR's Policy Manual, Section B: Professional Standards, Part 9's Citation Policy. You will be considered in violation with Article 10 of NAR's Code of Ethics.
